MUSIC FOR MUSICIANS: The Complete Works of John Franklin Fletcher
A Modern Day Troubadour: healing the world through song
I write 36 songs per series, with the exception of my first series (38 tracks). One can see the progression of my music, the ideas that come to the surface, primary topics, feelings and perspective. The music just happens. In my humble opinion you can't take a class and understand the work of the artist, it is their own unique fingerprint and that it why we call it art, real creative expression.
The songs come from a very deep place inside of me. I do not really take credit for the music, just let go and let the magic happen. I let the feeling of my music write my lyrics or the other way around! I just feel the energy and my subconscious brings in the words or music composition, magic happens.
I write for me. I have no clue what classification my music is, in a sense don't really care, don't want to box in my musical expression. I am looking forward to getting more instruments in my library. Each instrument has it's own color and I want to explore more tonal combinations in my music.
I have no real music background except several months in 6th grade playing the string base and fooling around with the guitar. I quit because I was a stupid kid and real men don't play in orchestras, heck I am a surfer. In around 1983 I took a junior college vocal class with a friend of mine.
I got an IPad in May 2013 and it stimulated me to look at GarageBand. I immediately produced my first song I ever wrote "Find Your True Meaning". I went off into music land since that moment.
This complete catalogue has many gems among the rough. The journey ahead is to identify the good songs and package them into stories that can last for generations to come.
John's music is in the RAW, no major mastering or editing, just the original sounds he conceived in his feelings and composing.
Several years ago all the tracks were taken off the global digital music platforms. All future music releases, through a global music distributor will be remixed and mastered to properly represent his music.
It takes many songs to make a song suitable for recording and release to global audiences. The task is to incorporate ,"less is more", and finding the gems that make a fascinating story.
The original thought was to provide recordings of all the works of John Franklin Fletcher. That mission failed as there is too much in the music catalogue for anyone to listen to or absorb.
Presently, John is starting from scratch. How does he tell the story by implementing video, pictures, cartoons with the music. It is the feeling, the story that John wants to tell. Touch the heart, the soul of each individual that comes across his music.
